Quick Verdict

Le Labo Another 13 is the overall winner for me. It’s more original, complex, and has impressive longevity. But Gucci Flora is a delightful, easy-to-wear floral that many will find instantly likable. If you want a signature scent that turns heads (and noses), go with Another 13. If you prefer a cheerful garden in a bottle, Flora is your pick.

Scent Profile Compared

Gucci Flora is a bright, fruity floral. Top notes feature pear and mandarin orange, which give way to a heart of jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia. The base is sandalwood, benzoin, and a touch of musk. On my skin, the opening is juicy and sweet, like biting into ripe pear. The florals are prominent but not overpowering. As it dries down, the woody base softens the sweetness, making it feel elegant rather than cloying.

Le Labo Another 13 is a completely different beast. It’s an ambrette-musk fragrance built around ambroxan, jasmine petals, moss, and ISO E Super. The opening is sharp, almost metallic, with a synthetic edge that some find challenging. But give it 15 minutes, and it transforms into a warm, skin-like scent. The dry-down is where it shines: a velvety musk with a hint of pear-like sweetness from ambrette. It’s intimate, personal, and almost like a second skin.

In short: Flora is a floral feast; Another 13 is a woody, musky enigma.

Longevity and Sillage

Gucci Flora has moderate longevity. I get about 4-5 hours on skin before it becomes a close scent. On clothes, it can last 6-7 hours. Projection is moderate; you’ll get compliments in a hug or across a small table, but it won’t fill a room. It’s a safe office scent.

Le Labo Another 13 has excellent longevity. I easily get 8-10 hours on skin, and it clings to fabric for days. Sillage is more moderate; it’s not a bomb, but it creates a noticeable aura. Some people say it becomes a skin scent faster, but I find it projects for the first 2-3 hours before settling close. It’s less assertive than many Ambroxan-based fragrances.

Best Occasions and Seasons

Gucci Flora is a spring-summer scent for daytime casual or semi-formal occasions. Think brunch with friends, a garden party, or a date at the park. It’s too playful for a night out or a boardroom.

Le Labo Another 13 is a year-round scent, but it truly sings in cooler weather. The warmth of the musk and amber makes it perfect for fall and winter. It’s great for evening events, dates, or any time you want to feel enigmatic. It works in the office if you apply lightly, but it’s more suited for personal moments.

Price and Value

Gucci Flora is more affordable, branded as a designer accessible perfume. You can check current price.

Le Labo Another 13 is a niche fragrance with a higher price tag. You can check current price.

Given that Another 13 lasts longer and uses higher-quality ingredients (in my opinion), the value is there if you appreciate complex, long-lasting scents. Flora offers good value for its price, especially if you love florals and don’t need all-day longevity.

One tip: When checking prices, always compare on Amazon where you can often find authentic perfumes at good discounts.

Which Should You Buy?

Buy Gucci Flora if you’re a floral lover who wants an easy, cheerful scent for warm weather. It’s great for gifting or if your perfume budget is moderate. It’s less likely to offend.

Buy Le Labo Another 13 if you want a unique, skin-like scent that lasts. It’s perfect for someone who wants to smell ambrette-mossy mysterious and doesn’t mind paying for quality. It’s a great signature scent.

If you can’t decide, sample both first. They’re opposite ends of the fragrance spectrum. But if I had to choose one for myself, it’s Another 13 all the way.

Note: I purchase samples and decants for testing. My opinions are my own.
